When time comes for the first official release, what's the first thing you want to do or are looking forward to in-game?

For me, it will be checking out a few major cities then going on a couple of dungeon crawls!

Travelling around and watching the (hopefully) wonderful landscape.

I'm going to do exactly the same thing I do with every release: go bug hunting and look for interesting things.

Well... in just an official release, I'll probably do what I always do and pick a guild... most likely Dark Brotherhood.

If we get some nice modded versions where wilderness has spawns and loot and/or even quests, I'll certainly be exploring outside of towns.

Slap on the headphones and get immersed in the epicosity (yes, I did have to make a word to describe the project) of DaggerXL. I'll probably go around some of the major cities, talk to some people, get a quest and go on a dungeon crawl. At which point I might take a break to make a mod to make dungeons more dark and eerie and possibly even scary.

In all honesty, I believe with the XL Engine and a few mods, we could easily have Morrowind quality terrain and maybe Oblivion quality much later on. I can't wait to traverse the new, vast landscapes. It'd be cool to do a time lapse of walking from the Southernmost part of the map to the Northernmost part of it. I've heard that it takes a couple real time weeks to do that though, so yeah, maybe I won't... I still think it'd be cool though, but enough of my ramblings!

Pheromonal? I don't think there's an Internet protocol for scratch-and-sniff.

If the terrain is still generated every time you enter a region (like in vanilla DF) the required disk space would be quite small. And with a good generator (I know thats no easy task) the epicosity ( ) of the landscape will be hardly imaginable.

The terrain is generated by using the base heightmap (stored in the Daggerfall data but not used in the game) + terrain type (desert, forest, etc.) + procedural generation. So yeah, the disk usage for terrain is minimal. :)
