That sucks! I really enjoyed the original game, and the other two games have long since been purchased, just waiting for me to find time to play them.

Faaark!...I don't know what to say...I didn't see that coming. I thought Stalker 2 was on track for a multi-platform release some time next year. Aah well, such is the screwed up nature of AAA games development and the European economy

As far as I have been able to gather from rumors and hints, it had more to do with certain corrupt government/law enforcement officials wanting a share of the wealth the company behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. had brought to Ukraine.

For some nostalgia though, they made a game years ago, called Codename: Outbreak.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is sort of the spiritual successor of this game according to this review:

I have not managed to make the game work on Win.7 with Compatibility Administrator, perhaps any of you have better luck.
It did work on Win.XP.
