Hello there! Lenny from the IRC suggested I post an introduction here so I thought I might as well give it a shot.t

As the username goes, I prefer to be known as BPzeBanshee. Unlike some people I dont change my username from place to place so I might be recognisable from other places.

I found out about DarkXL looking to see if there was a modern engine for it like Darkplaces for Quake and came across the subforum within df-21.net's forum for DarkXL. Very nice place in general, though quite dead in terms of short-term posting. Really though my main forum of residence is at the Shmups! Forums where I post as a developer about a game engine template I'm working on over there.

I can't think of much else to talk about, since I prefer to show off myself through my creations more than anything else, but if you have any questions that aren't too personal don't hesitate to ask. :D

This is an excellent community, and there is a lot of things going on here.

Look forward to seeing you're posts on the forums.. :)

DF-21 used to be pretty active up until about 4 or 5 years ago when DF became more of a hassle to run on modern machines (or more of the senior members just got a life or something :P ). If not for DarkXL, I'm sure it would have died off when Fenwar stepped down as the site's admin.

I'm still there checking it out at least once a day, kind of like a ghostly guardian. I do miss the old days when the community was more active and remains as one of my favorite communities to be a part of. I'm sure that will carry on over here, but it won't be the same.

In any case, welcome :)

Thanks for all the friendly welcome guys. It's nice actually getting positive comments first thing in a forum, I daresay that doesn't happen often these days. :D

TAUniverse had a similar problem there where the original host, Nexus, decided he couldn't afford to administrate or actually pay for the cost of hosting it. I think BlueWolf or one of the active TA modders there took it upon themselves to keep the place running. I sympathise with you there mate. ;)

Actually the DarkXL forums over at DF-21 where the main reason the community merger / XL Engine merger took so long. I felt bad about moving DarkXL from the DF-21 forums, due to activity levels.

But in the end I felt that the merger was the correct way to go and still do. :) However DF-21 remains as a resource for Dark Forces - if you're into Dark Forces at all, there are tons of mods and information on the site.
