Battlefront III to have free Steam release!

Postby K-j » Mon Jun 06, 2016 6:50 am

Valve have directly given the go ahead to fan based developers at Frontwire Studios to release through PC gaming platform Steam Star Wars Battlefront III based on the cancelled work of original developers Pandemic Studios. For free to all.

It's been renamed Galaxy In Turmoil.

Or maybe not, apparently one of the previous developers posted on another forum that he was phased out of the project, and a lot of n00bs 'working' on it didn't know what they were doing, and the 'press' release was basically a sham, the game isn't nearly finished, and it's unlikely Valve would sign it up for Steam. Never mind.

LucasFilm have put an end to Galaxy In Turmoil/Battlefront III fan made project using the STAR WARS IP. EA Games said it would take away from their Battlefront franchise.

Although I think EA and DICE should have made a much better game that wouldn't have been threatened by fan projects in the first place, the Frontwire folk got a bit too big for their boots it seems. They should've kept it all as a small fan project, kept it on the lowdown, instead of the big announcement when the game in their footage was clearly in a far from release ready state.
