I've been following DaggerXL for a while now, and I recently found out it's still being updated from a friend. Upon coming to this forum, I noticed this section where people were making requests for the engine.

I'm hoping that you're either going to make the engine open source, or provide proper engine editing tools/script extenders for us instead, so that we might simply edit all of this ourselves? Depending on Lucius to do all of the extending seems a little unorthodox.

Maybe DaggerXL could take the same route OpenMW is taking?

Sorry if this was the plan already, I still need to catch up a lot on the direction DaggerXL is taking - but nonetheless I am super excited for the project! I look forward to the beta.

Lucius doesn't want to open his source code before the project is out of beta, because he feels like open source projects are of poor coding quality and never get completed.

I don't think he's ever said that...
but yeah, it won't be open-source until Beta(when the game(s) are fully reverse-engineered).
