A method to limit FPS

Postby stupidspecter » Wed Feb 11, 2015 2:32 am

I started using Darkxl for Dark Forces, and noticed that when walking, I moved REALLY slow. and hitting the print screen key was a temporary fix for a second or 2, but would begin to move slowly again. I've been looking around online and found this post:

http://xlengine.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=742

After reading this, I thought to myself instead of forcing vertical sync and having to worry about input lag, why not a method of limiting fps through console command, or even on start up so it could fix the movement issue + still have a decent fps to look around without that minor input lag.
It may not be able to be done but if there is a way to implement this, please let me know or get back to me. Thank you guys and great job on this engine

1) Make sure you force disabled VSync in every game. XLEngine uses VSync and don't has an option to disable.
2) Read post again
